Second… Think about how each of the unit concepts explain one another. How can we look at social theories to explain social dynamics? How does DuBois or Yamato or Di Angelo or Peggy MacIntosh present an example of the consequences of social dynamics?

Next… Pretend you are in a cafe with all the theories have personalities. DuBois or Yamato or Di Angelo or Peggy MacIntosh in the cafe with all of you. You ask the social theories and the authors the questions below. How would they answer? Just think about what they would say FIRST before you move onto the next step.

  • How can different social theories explain write fragility?
  • How can different social theories explain prejudice OR discrimination?
  • What role does white privilege play in maintaining subordination?
  • How would Yamato and DuBois explain the harm of racism?

*Remember… think about how they would answer. Take time to do this process. Spend time in thinking how they would answer. Use anything from the Discussion to inspire or create your work. This is to get you inspired. The assessment questions are below.

Unit 2 Learning Adventure Activity

In a dialog format provided below, how would the featured theories/authors respond to each question?

Criteria:

  1. Each response should include your interpretation of how the featured author would answer the question. The interpretation must be explain in a conversational style. Be creative on how you believe they would respond. Have fun.
  2. Each developed interpretation must also include a direct quote from the source to connect with your interpretation. The quote must be cohesive – must make sense – must connect to your interpretation. Reference the Canvas page.
  3. Follow each direct quote with a developed explanation of the applied quote. In other words make it clear to the reader how your selected quote is actually addressing the question.
  4. To close off the conversation, a conclusive statement must reflect an overall understanding of the authors contributions to the overall understanding.
  5. The script needs to be cohesive. In other words, it should read like a conversation.
  6. Feel free to cut and paste the questions and the dialog format.
  7. Respect our
