The candidate will complete one observation of teaching in a school. Meet with your building administrator to discuss your teacher observation assignment. You will be using the observation/evaluation tool used by your district/building for the teacher observation.

 

You should observe in the classroom for a minimum of 30 minutes. Arrange with your school administrator and ask the teacher’s permission to observe. Tell him/her that you are in a class where you are learning how to collect data on teaching. Prior to your observation, conduct a pre-observation conference with the teacher and find out what the teacher states will be the objectives of the lesson. Be sure that the teacher knows you will be taking notes during your observation.
