Option A for completing the assignment – Analyze 1 Company over its life span:
Select a company that is at least 25 years old. Also identify an innovative initiative it introduced somewhere in its lifespan. Address the following:
– Explain the company’s dominant origin. What has prevailed about the company since its inception?
– How has the company changed over time? How has it remained relevant?
– How has management prevented the failure of change processes? How has it been able to successfully evolve?
– Consider the various approaches to organizational change. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach?
– Under what conditions is one approach more suitable than another?
– Name one innovative product, service, initiative, or strategy that demonstrates the company’s embracing a shift.
– Connect a management strategy of the company’s with how it views innovation and new opportunities.
A successful submission will include thoughtful answers to the above questions, as supported by course resources in Canvas and in particular Ch. 11 of the textbook. Students are welcome to include professional opinion and write in the first person. Familiarize yourself with the assignment’s grading rubric to ensure the submission comprehensively addresses the aspects considered in the grading rubric.
Charts and figures may be included in support of the written content. Remember corporate websites are incredibly helpful to identify information about organizational management practices, but students will also want to rely on supportive articles and editorial opinion on the organization (or the business leader) when and how appropriate.
