this is just a paper revision, you don’t have to write a new paper, just change what is indicated. i will need you to assist me in case some questions and small edits need to be done besides those listed below.THE SURVEY HAS TO BE DONE FIRST! 1. First, my supervisor said that it is not a good research in which there is no data analysis, and he told me where are the interview questions that I did, and I relied in my research on the reports and information on the Internet, so he asked me. So we need a survey too!2. Secondly, if we change the analysis, this leads to a change in the research methodology. Third, I was asked to make a comparison with international companies that use cloud computing, for example, an American telecommunications company or others.3. Third, note that the references in the research are not scientific and I am asked to change them as reliable references4. Fourth, we want to change the discussion and recommendationsFinally, we want the research to come out well and provide something useful, so the decision is for you to either change the analysis in a quantitative or qualitative scientific way.So the paper structure should remain the same, but we need to research on the international companies that use cloud computing using a survey, and add some data analysis to support our findings and results. By doing this, we will have to change the research methodology. And lastly, we will completely change the discussions and recommendations sectionStudy on analyzing the prospects and challenges of cloud technology
adoption- A case of Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Saudi Arabia
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.0 Introduction
Currently, the cloud has turned into core for facilitating service through offering provision for the
user. The cloud computing is said to be the latest model which allows to comprise resource of
computing on demand and pay for every use (Sultan, 2010). Earlier, the data were places in the
external storage servers or hard drives in the place that have limited access in private networks.
Today, the data can be kept within cloud which enables to access data effectively and flexibly.
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) stated cloud computing to be the model to
offer on demand and provisioned computing resources involving the services, applications,
storage, servers, and networks (NIST, 2019). It can be used with the help of internet and requires
least management interaction or effort by Cloud Service Provider (CSP). Cloud computing is said
to be produced in level that provide application platforms, software applications, or different
infrastructure components to be the cloud systems. As per the NIST (Mell and Grance, 2011), the
cloud computing include three service model such as the platform as a service (PaaS) appropriate
to the user planning for using their own application, Software as a Service (SaaS) the whole system
is depend upon cloud, therefore users are provided with the applications, and Infrastructure as a
Service (IaaS) gives cloud-based infrastructure like networking, storage and processing networks.
The cloud computing is generally used in four models such as community cloud, private cloud,
hybrid cloud and public cloud (Poniszewska-Maranda et al., 2019).
Telecommunication industries are one of the largest industries which have numerous growths
stages and diversification (AL-Tameem and Mohammad, 2014). This rapid growth and higher
requirement force the sector to focus on innovative solutions with lesser cost and good quality.
Hence, Cloud computing play a major role since it involves in reducing cost, enhance resource
utilization, make the internet into high speed and provide larger data. In Saudi Arabia, the National
Transformation Program 2020 was established to create the institutional capacity and proficiencies
required to attain the aim of Vision 2030 of Saudi Arabia (Vision2030, 2016). Technology will be
a key driver and enabler to the National Transformation Program of Saudi Arabia underneath
Vision 2030, therefore, this program focused on digital transformation. In this aspect, the report
by Banda (2017) stated that Saudi telecom industry builds cloud computing giant. Few telecom
companies have understand the importance of cloud computing, therefore they apply cloud
computing technology to their services, the best example for this is Saudi Telecom Company
(STC) (Zawya, 2019). The firm used cloud computing for fulfilling the needs of customers and
maintain pace with the ever-changing market demands. Likewise, the firm used the cloud
technology for increase the efficiency of the business sector through giving a wide range of
innovative digital solutions as chief enablers of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
1.1 Problem statement
The latest research studies have positively assured that the future of the computing depends on the
technology of cloud computing. Several major resource findings are that the adoption of cloud
computing will indeed decrease the cost of computing, data access with remote and local
accessibility, raises the productivity of the business, flexibility and reliability and especially, it
reduces the process of business response-time and increases the throughput (Ghazaleh and Ahmad,
2017). Further, this has been seen that the cloud technology should be utilized with is completely
fledge spectrum not as a fragmented part of the cloud model to attain more advantages from it. As
per Armbrust et al. (2010) decreasing the maintenance and execution costs are few major
advantages given with scalable and flexible infrastructure which makes the organization reduce
the time in marketing and the IT department can concentrate upon the innovation not on execution
and maintenance. In contrast, the cloud computing can provide and benefits of users regarding
collaboration and mobility. Moreover the services of cloud computing can remove the redundancy
of executing same processes in big infrastructure through various departments by enabling
collaboration within many institutions.
In past few years, cloud computing has been the trending word in the Saudi communication
technology industry. More importance has been given upon the advantages to the business
involving raised productivity and decreased cost. The statistics represent that in terms of 30 percent
start-ups performance in business is bad since they did not include ICT for enhancing the
efficiency, quality, access and effectiveness of their service delivery. Once again, the businesses
that include ICT are generally faced with big capital investment within the infrastructure of ICT
The adoption of cloud computing services through such businesses without any doubt might
improve their efficiency and perceive a development in the industry of ICT and thus serve well for
their customer.
With the recognition of some cloud service providers in late years, it is value specifying that the
cloud computing operations being used by such businesses are predictable. However the adoption
rate has increased, regards over the issues and security of cloud computing stays higher (Buller,
2016). Various businesses are shifting corporate data to the cloud having no clear insight on the
implications of security and other problems. The information in terms of cloud computing
affecting in the industry is constrained and not available instantly. Some of the available
information is variable and fragmented. Some previous researchers examined that loss of control
and information security is the major problems faced by telecommunications due to cloud
computing adoption (AL-Tameem and Mohammad, 2014). Though, one of the Vision 2030 of
Saudi Arabia is digital infrastructure where cloud computing will play a major role. Still there is
no dedicated research about problems in cloud computing at Saudi especially for STC. For secured
and effective change into cloud service, many facts must be recognized which involves scientific
proofs about the problems of cloud computing affecting the environment of ICT in STC. The
present research aims at examining the opportunities and challenges of the cloud technology
adoption in STC. In the present research, effort has been made to describe the cloud computing
concept with its challenges and benefits with highlight upon the security.

Chapter 2: Literature review
2.0 Introduction
Computing is becoming a model that includes service that is delivered and commoditized in a way
same as the conventional utilities like electricity, telephony, water and gas. In this model, the user
makes use of services depending upon their needs irrespective to where the hosting of service is
done or how they are given. Some of the computing paradigms have assured for producing the
utility computing vision and those involves the grid computing, cluster computing and lately the
cloud computing. The former word signifies the infrastructure to be the cloud from which the users
and businesses can make use of application from all the places across globe on demand. Therefore
the world of computing is changing quickly in progressing software for millions to ingest as the
service, instead of operating on their personal computer. Recently it is usual to make use of the
content throughout the internet individually having no reference to the fundamental hosting
infrastructure. The present infrastructure includes data centers that are maintained and monitored
any time by the content providers. Cloud computing is said to be the expansion of the given
paradigm in which the business application abilities are shown as the complex service which can
be utilized on network. The providers of cloud computing are induced by the profits obtained from
charging the users for utilizing such services. The consumers like enterprises are drawn by the
chances for removing or reducing the cost related to such service’s in-house provision. But as the
application of cloud can be important for the consumer’s business operation, it is important that
the consumers have assurance on service delivery from the contributors. Actually, those are
delivered by the Service level agreements (SLAs) brokered within the consumers and providers.
The cloud computing mainly act as the catalyst in the transforming technology, leaving its
possibility in driving the innovation of the business virtually untapped. But basically cloud has got
that strength to change the competitive landscapes through offering a latest platform to deliver and
create the value of business. The study examined the clouds’ potential as the enabler of business
in the present telecommunication industry context, trends, calls, and strategic to action. The
organization related to communication service providers (CSPs) must examine how optimally the
cloud-enabled business models can be used in making a maintainable competitive benefit. Through
bring about the private, hybrid and public cloud contributions to the latest and current business
markets, the CSPs goes further commoditizing the data service and voice for driving the latest
innovative revenue streams. In the technologies, the developments such as next-generation and
cloud networks challenge the legal systems capability to maintain the speed. However such
developments further provide a choice for the tele industries to compete in the challenging and
active marketplace. The market size of the global public cloud service in the year 2013 was US$
45.6 billion and is anticipated to develop at the compound yearly development rate of 23% until
the year 2018.
Consider a situation when a client is stopping a power based gadget to the attachment. In a perfect
world, the client ought to have the option to utilize the power gave by the attachment paying little
heed to the manner in which it is produced or appropriated. A similar way, the developing
processing worldview is looking to broaden a similar idea for giving completely virtualised
registering administrations to clients. Consequently, innovations, for example, matrix and group
figuring and all the more as of late acquainted cloud computing standards point with empower
clients to get to registering administrations by proficiently using the accessible calculation assets
in a manner that is straightforward to the client. This is principally done by total of accessible
assets and building up an organization layer to designate such assets to the clients. Truth be told,
cloud computing is presently, known as a wide system that empowers conveyance of processing
assets as a support of a different network of end clients. This section gives an initial foundation to
cloud computing including the meaning of the term, just as, the kind of administrations and
different deployment models that are accessible.
2.1 Cloud Computing
2.1.1 Concept and Definitions
There have been some of the cloud computing definitions. Like most of the researchers and
practitioners, the present research also utilized the below given cloud computing definition through
the US National institute of standards and technology (NIST). Cloud computing is said to be a
model to facilitate the on-demand network, convenient access to a shared configurable pool of
computing resource (e.g. services, storages, applications, networks and servers) which can be
quickly facilitated and distributed with reduced effort of management or service provider
interaction (Islam et al., 2013). Cloud computing is said to be the computer service delivery which involves storage, intelligence, analytics, software, networking, databases and servers – on
the internet (cloud) to provide rapid economies of sales, flexible resources and innovation. Usually,
user pays only to the utilized cloud services, supporting in reducing the functioning costs, operate
the infrastructure effectively and scale since the there is a requirement in the business (Microsoft
Azure, 2019). Cloud computing is the common word for anything which including hosted services
on the internet. Such services are widely categorized as three types Software-as-a-Service (SaaS),
Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) (Shah and Dhiman, 2015).
Cloud computing is said to be the types of the outsourcing of processing, software and data storage.
Users use the files and applications through signing up from the device having internet connection.
The programs and information are said to be hosted through the third parties and present on the
worldwide network of protected data centers rather than the hard drive of the user. This releases
the collaboration, processing power and facilitates sharing and enables the secure access of
mobiles irrespective to what the device is or where the use utilizes it (Dupré and Haeberlen, 2012).
A kind of computing which depends upon the resources of shared computing instead of having
personal devices or local servers to operate the application is called cloud computing. In its
majority of the definitions, cloud computing is receiving service and shifting them out from the
firewall of the organization. The storage, application and other services are utilized through web.
The services are said to be produced and utilize on internet and are charged by the customer of the
cloud on pay-per-use or as-needed business model (Charan et al., 2011).
2.1.2 Characteristics of Cloud Computing
Though there are innumerable meanings of cloud computing, there are some normal qualities
among every one of these definitions. These attributes can be ordered to the accompanying five
significant classes of Self-service automated access, Resource aggregation, elasticity of resource
Ubiquitous network access and Pay-as-use business model.
Resource Aggregation: by the guide of virtualization strategies, a cloud specialist co-op permits
storage or computing assets to be shared among the clients paying little heed to real and physical
area of the assets (Mell and Grance, 2011).
Self-Service Automated Access: the consistently expanding development of information age
requires the programmed activity of server farms and IT frameworks. The future cloud
administrations should evacuate or limit any human connections from the activity cycle henceforth
gives adaptability and noteworthy cost decrease from both OPEX and CAPEX viewpoints. This
for instance incorporates self-setup capacities that empower mechanized administration and
checking of the assets and the designation procedure.
Resource Elasticity: the accessibility of cloud computing assets ought to be differed powerfully
in understanding to the clients’ interest. As it were, cloud computing ought to give a structure that
coordinates the accessibility of the assets and the momentary interest. Over-provisioning of assets
will bring about wasteful use and an expanded activity cost, while too traditionalist approaches
may prompt corrupted clients’ nature of experience and infringement of clients’ administration
prerequisites. The ideal distribution of assets could be a troublesome assignment since clients’
interest may not be effortlessly anticipated in numerous…
